D'Accord Personal Guitarist is a software application which will help you to learn new songs quickly and efficiently. It can display the fingering, chords and notation for the included songs and exercises as well as for user created ones. Also included are a chord dictionary, instrument tuner and metronome to provide everything you need to learn new songs on your string instrument.
D'Accord Personal Guitarist runs on your PC and is a great way for beginner to intermediate guitarists to learn new songs. The application uses a special file type which includes all the information to show you lyrics, chords and fingering for any song. There are 100 included songs and exercises but the program can also open a wide variety of different common file types found on the internet to extend the range of songs you can learn.
The main interface consists of a fret board on to which markers are placed to show you where to put your fingers to play a song. There are four different views, but the one we found most useful was the one that makes it look like someone is holding a guitar opposite you - just as if a friend was teaching you to play. As well as the virtual fretboard the application can display the musical notation of the song and the lyrics as it is played.
One of the handy features of D'Accord Personal Guitarist is that it supports other string instruments as well as just the guitar. You can also find and create songs for banjos, ukuleles and violins amongst others. The integrated tuner can also tune a wide variety of instruments just by playing the string into a microphone attached to your computer. The software can detect the note and tell you to tune up or down, allowing you to get the perfect pitch.
As well as being able to display song information, D'Accord Personal Guitarist allows you to create your own song files. You can give the application the chords and lyrics for your own song and then save the file to share with your friends - or maybe fans around the world!
